APS Select
APS Select Limited
APS run two exclusive skiing chalet holiday businesses in the French Alps. These businesses are supported by two web sites which feature winter holiday chalets, with vast amounts of detail on every chalet and resort. This information requires regular updating both annually and throughout the season itself.
Organization
APS run chalet-based ski holidays in the French alps under two brands, VIP (based in Val d'Isere) and Snowline (covering Les Trois Vallee, Portes de Soleil, and Argentiere). APS have had a web presence for the last 3 years.
Challenge
APS needed to update its resort and chalet information annually, to add special offers before and during the season, and to be able to quickly duplicate all their information annually for a Dutch-based version of the site. Most updates would be made from the London offices but, during the season, APS needed to be able to make changes when their staff are half-way up a mountain in France.
Solution
The edeptive ? content management system was chosen for its ease of use and browser-based admininistration. edeptive ?'s ability to create new modules to cope with resort and chalet information, and Edeptive's historic link with APS - Edeptive built the original Snowline and Val d'Isere static sites. APS uses edeptive ? running on a hosted application server.
Result
The sites went live in September 2001 and attract between 1500 and 6000 visitors per month depending on the time of year. Over 300 people have used the site to apply for jobs with APS.
One customer had this to say about the site: "We both thought that your website was amongst the best we have ever visited. Very well laid out, quick, simple to use with all the right information. Brilliant. If the chalet is half as good we will be well pleased."
Technical Notes
The edeptive ? content management system is an ASP-based solution which runs on all NT4 and Windows2000 servers, using one or more MS-SQL Server databases for storage. edeptive ? is modular and extensible, with 19 generic modules already in place.
